Club Outings

Cascades Mountaineers sponsors outings to nearby mountains and rock climbing areas. Outings are led by individual members who enjoy sharing hiking, climbing, backpacking, and other outdoor experiences. We hope that you will participate in or help plan and coordinate an outing. Outings are open to club members only.

For reports on outings that have already taken place, see our past outing reports.

Participating in a Club Outing

  1. Select an outing you would like to join.
  2. Contact the outing coordinator(s).
  3. If selected for the outing, wait to receive an outing prospectus and a list of required equipment and apparel.
  4. GO HAVE FUN!

Please note: You need to have appropriate experience if you want to join an Outing. If you would like to gain more experience in a supervised setting, one option is to seek instruction from a professional guiding company. There are excellent professional guiding companies in Oregon that will be happy to provide instruction, some gear, and guide you to your goal. For links to websites of guiding companies click here.
