Outing Coordinator:  Greg Ouellette

Date: March 30th - April 1st, 2007, alternate date: April 6th - April 8th, 2007.

Elevation Gain: +4000' / -4700'. Starting elevation is 7100'.

Outing Description: Circumnavigation of Crater Lake is one of the classic X-country routes in the US. The route generally follows the snow-covered rim drive - definitely a backcountry experience. The scenery is outrageous & opportunities for side runs are available for the fast & fit. I have completed this in the Spring of 2006. This outing is rated 5 out of 5 stars by skimountaineering.com.

Equipment/Clothing needs: Full backcountry overnight touring setup. Too extensive to post here. Greg will discuss with those interested, personally.

Skills, Experience and Fitness Level Needed: Effort rating @ skimountaineering.com is a '3': 'overnight trip, lots of mileage & vertical'. From experience, it will be fun, tedious & mentally challenging.
