Outing Description: Circumnavigation of Crater Lake is one of the classic X-country routes in the US. The route generally follows the snow-covered rim drive - definitely a backcountry experience. The scenery is outrageous & opportunities for side runs are available for the fast & fit. This outing is rated 5 out of 5 stars by skimountaineering.com.

Equipment & Clothing Needs: Skis with a metal edge and stiff backcountry boot, climbing skins, full backcountry overnight touring setup. Too extensive to post here. I will discuss with those interested, personally.

Skills, Experience and Fitness Level Needed: Strong intermediate to advanced backcountry skiing ability. Effort rating @ skimountaineering.com is a '3': 'overnight trip, lots of mileage & vertical'. It will be fun, tedious & mentally challenging.

Maximum Number of Participants & RSVP Requirements: 8-10 people. Contact coordinator for reservations.
